Can I host a WordPress multisite at Savvii?

You can! Because multisites often demand a lot from the server, we only support multisites within VPS packages.

Can I move a multisite to Savvii's hosting?

Our migration plugin Savvii WP Migrate can also move multisites. If you move the site to a VPS, this should not cause any problems.

Can I install a multisite on the temporary Savvii-URL?

A subdomain based multisite cannot be installed on the temporary Savvii-URL (x.savviihq.com). This means you have to do a tricky conversion, or go through the entire installation again. You may be able to install a multisite based on subdirectories on the temporary Savvii-URL, but we don't recommend this because of the extra complexity.

How do I set up domain mapping within my multisite?

The latest versions of WordPress (after 4.5) include the option to use domain mapping in your multisite by default. You can reach the different subsites under different domain names by changing the Site Address (URL) field of each subsite in the menu you reach via Sites -> All Sites to the domain name you want to use for the subsite. Please note! This also has to be https://.

These domains must also be added within admin.savvii.com. This way, the server knows what to do with the traffic coming from this domain name on the server to which hosting package the traffic has to be sent.
